| Meet Cynthia Bazin
Cynthia A. Bazin is Managing Member of The Bazin Group, LLC - Investigations / Security Consulting / Training & Seminars. Bazin’s impressive background includes 17 years of high level, investigative and security related positions in both state agencies and the private sector.
From 1994 to 2003, Bazin held roles of progressive responsibility with the State of Connecticut Department of Correction. She distinguished herself by becoming one of the youngest members of the department to rise to the rank of Captain prior to her 30th birthday. Among her assignments was working within maximum security prisons; presenting her with the rare opportunity to interact with, and better understand the mind of some of the states most notorious and dangerous criminals. This experience was the foundation for her expertise as a Criminal Profiler and doing threat assessments for her clients.
Bazin’s leadership abilities were recognized in the Department of Correction and she was tapped to work in the Internal Affairs Unit which oversees the actions of 7000 union and non-union employees. In this role, she managed the efforts of 10 professional investigators and presented findings as well as her recommendations of highly sensitive investigations to the Commissioner of the Department of Correction. Among her other responsibilities, Bazin was a Hostage Negotiator for the department as well as an instructor at the State of Connecticut Training Academy, where she taught Investigative Methods and Procedures.
In 2003, Bazin relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada where she worked for a major telecommunications corporation to conduct sensitive internal investigations. She was responsible for conducting fraud investigations for offices located in Nevada, Arizona and California. Among other accomplishments, her investigative efforts led to the discovery of an identity theft ring that had targeted existing customers.
In March 2004, Bazin was appointed as the Director of Security/Risk Management for four (4) Hotels/Casinos in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. Bazin managed a Private Security force of 120 Team Members. In this role, she was responsible for the safety and security of all property assets, all guests of the properties, as well as 2000 Team Members. She was also tasked with conducting corporate investigations into workers compensation claims, guest injuries, theft and assault.
In 2006, Bazin founded The Bazin Group, LLC. Bazin brings a fresh perspective to the safety and security industry and provides all the tools and services you need to keep you safe.
Bazin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Westfield State College and holds a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Springfield College. She is a trained Hostage Negotiator, Public Speaker and author of her own Newsletter. In Bazin's spare time, she enjoys spending it outdoors and is a health and fitness enthusiast.
